Cast On/Stitches/Cast Off
Here are some links that show you how to cast on, bind off, and knit special stitches on your round looms:
Decor Accents: More videos are available on the Decor Accents website. This site was invaluable to me after I purchased my Knifty Knitters.
Bev's Country Cottage: Check out this site for step-by-step photographs of wrapping round looms. Also, great patterns if you want to jump ahead in your learning process.
Ben Franklin's Website: They offer a quick photo review of wrapping the pegs and the Provocraft video links are at the bottom of the page.
HOW TO LOOM SPECIAL STITCHES (beyond the knit stitch)
Eventually, you'll want to learn more than the basic wrap knit stitches. Please try these links:
YARNGEAR.COM: has an easy to read (with diagram) of special stitches. Stitches include: stockinette, garter, ribbing (1x1, 1x2, 2x2), seed stitch, rice stitch, moss stitch, box stitch, mistake ribbing, and little checks. Make sure you read Meilynne's helpful hints page for more information on special stitches (knit/purl/flat/slip). A great website!
DECOR ACCENTS: purl, flat stitch/U-stitch, garter, chunky braid, double stitch, single stitch, and half stitch.
LOOMKNIT.COM: extensive stitch information and don't miss their Knifty Knitter Cable tutorial! Stitches include: chunky braid, double stitch, e-wrap, flat, garter, half, single, popcorn, purl, cables, i-cord, bobbles, and fringe.
LOOMLADY'S BLOG: shows you how to U-wrap for flat knitting on the round looms.
HOW TO CAST OR BIND OFF
GATHERING METHOD: To gather the ends together (like you would do at the top of a hat or on a closed tube scarf) go to Bev's website. Also,
FLAT REMOVAL METHOD: To leave the ends of the scarf open (like a tube) go to Decor Accent's website.
YarnGear.com will walk you thru these bind off stitches: crochet bind-off, knit bind-off, purl bind-off, and a super-stretchy bind-off.
Now get out your Knifty Knitters and start creating!
